I promised you that I was going to “Expose” everything, and that includes the real numbers.
I know that, at first, and having to invest the minimum (read our principles here), achieving great numbers will be hard work and it won’t happen overnight. But my main purpose is to help you, and whether the numbers skyrocket or sink way down, you are going to be in the front row to watch everything.
INFO ABOUT THE MONTHLY INCOME REPORTS
I’ll give you a brief description of what the Monthly Income Report’s series is about:
I will update this page every month summarizing my progress. I’ll first mention the major events that could have made a difference during the month or that’ll make a difference in the future. I’ll also show a list of the monthly income and the expenses, as detailed as I could. To finish the report, I’ll share with you with what we learned and the future steps.
As I said it on the contact page, I’d love to talk with you about everything related to achieving financial freedom, so I’ll respond to any questions or comments that you may have about the report. Let’s Go!
MAY - 2019
When you feel that a month has 3 days instead of 31.
EVENTS TO MENTION IN MAY
I finished my first Lean Canvas. Freenancial is getting big.
- After a month in the acceleration program, I’m starting to see the results. The first thing is a complete upgrade in my business idea and the service and help that I’m going to be able to provide to you. You’ll have news very soon!!
- The number os followers in twitter and subscribers is increasing. I like to be involved with people, and these two channels are great to do that.
INCOME, EXPENSES, WINNINGS AND LOSSES:
- Income and Expenses. This month there were 93€ income from Inspira y Avanza’s youtube channel. And no expenses, if we don’t consider an expense the trillion of hours I’m spending in this project!! :-S.
- Accumulated. I’m 114.08€ ahead… still not much… but growing.
LEARNINGS AND FUTURE STEPS:
- When you think big, the effort is going to be big. In my life, everything that I made started with a big plan. With Freenancial I tried to go with low profile ambitions… but that didn’t long too much. I’m used to think big, and now the project itself has revealed all its possibilities… and it’s going to be huge and it’s going to help a lot of people.
- Communication and content are very important. It’s no easy for me to keep on creating new content when at the same time I’m developing the business idea and maintaining other streams of income. That’s why I decided to create a Video Blog, the fastest and direct way to communicate the daily advances and news with you. Probably in June, the first chapters should be online. I’m really excited to start it with the videos and receive your feedback.

April showers bring May flowers
EVENTS TO MENTION IN APRIL
The acceleration program finally started! 🙂
- This month it’s been going really fast. As I told you before, Freenancial Exposed is being selected to be part of an acceleration program here in Spain. If you want to know more about it, you can see more of it here (in Spanish): https://www.eoi.es/es/empresas/emprendedores/espacios-coworking.
- I had a Workshop in Business Canvas really useful, I’ll probably talk to you about this in the future to help you with your own business ideas.
- As I still haven’t found a nice Mastermind here in Málaga (I even tried to organize one but with not much success, :-S), I think that the entrepreneurs community that I’ve found inside this acceleration program is going to be really useful to generate ideas and collaborate to improve each one’s projects.

- Income and Expenses. This month there were no income nor expenses, so this area is going to be clear.
- Accumulated. I’m still 21.34€ ahead… is not much… but everything is just starting.
LEARNINGS AND FUTURE STEPS:
- I thought I had a good business definition, but I hadn’t. You need to think carefully about your business idea. Sometimes you can think that you have a good business model and a good value proposition, but then you try to analyze with the lean model tools, and you discover that you don’t. Next month I have to arrive at a new and better business model.
- A good mentor is key. I use to be the mentor most of my day, helping others in their offline business. Now I’m starting with this online project and, although I asked some experienced people about how to start, nothing is compared to have a personal an experienced mentor to help you from the start to the end. Now I have one and the way I’m facing this project is totally different. I’ll share with you all the process, probably in a Vlog (video blog) series.

March was like starting over… but not really!
EVENTS TO MENTION IN MARCH
I thought that my first version of the website was going to last more online. I was wrong. 🙂
During March, when Valeria going out of the project, I decided to change everything and define better what Freenancial is about.
- Being Freenancial; that everybody could achieve financial freedom, is the main goal, the vision that drove me to create everything that you can see, and much more.
- Freenancial Exposed is the business aggregator of the whole project. Here, you are going to know everything about all the “satellite projects” I develop. You’ll also find my review of other entrepreneur’s successful business. I want you to learn from things that are already working.
- With the incredible help of Miguel Moebius, a great creative and designer, we change the logo. This is the result:

Many of you asked me about the earnings. Before now I only showed expenses because, as I told you before, the concept was different. All the project was a Niche Site called Freenancial Exposed. Now it’s not.
Now the project is global, with satellite projects that can generate passive income, so I’m going to show them in here too. If you need more explanation, please contact me.
As I’m getting some passive income from my “Inspira y Avanza” youtube channel, I decided to add those incomes to the graph, so you could see that this project is completely paying itself by passive income.
I’ll modify the graph for the next month so you could see three different lines:
- Income.
- Expenses.
- Accumulated.
I think it’s going to be more visual, and I’m going to talk about particular expenses or income when they are more than Youtube Channel income and hosting expenses.
LEARNINGS AND FUTURE STEPS:
- Sometimes you hurry too much up to publish your web site. It’s better to think a little bit more in front of the final design so you can save a lot of time and money (cost of your time).
- Elementor and a free theme is everything you need to have a great Web. Before I used Avada Theme, because it’s really full of tools, but sometimes more is not needed, mostly if you want to work simple. - Next month is going to be the month where everything related to the design it should be finished, and I hope I could tell you more news about the first “satellite project” an Entrepreneur niche Podcast. “Emprendiendo en Adobo”.

February was the month for networking and strategic decisions.
EVENTS TO MENTION IN FEBRUARY
February is being a Month with a lot of reflection and big changes. A lot of work again. This is very important, if you are not ready to work a lot before you start to see results, maybe passive income is not for you.
- I wrote an article talking about the mistakes I made the first 100 days. I hope it could help you to avoid them in your online business: First 100 days of Freenancial Exposed. The 5 biggest mistakes I made.
- Another big news!! Vale is not anymore taking part in Freenancial 🙁 She had to dedicate her time to other projects and I hope in the near future she could join again this project with me (Luis). It’s been incredible to start together this dream and once more, thank you, thank you, Vale, for being there. Freenancial Exposed will always have you in its heart.
- There are many people that still don’t know about what passive income is. I decided to write an article which could help these people to know it in deep. At the same time, I added some examples of what I think are the five best ways to start generating them from home: Passive income definition and 5 ways to generate them from home.
- I defined the new projects outside Freenancial that are going to be “case studies” to share in Freenancial. The list is endless, but probably the first thing is going to be a podcast (or maybe more than one… who knows 🙂 ).
- I started to interact and share valuable information on social networks. You could find me easily on Twitter (I’m there a lot of times a day 🙂 ) And sometimes I’m also on Instagram and Facebook. Go there and say hi!

- March has to be the month to improve the visual part of Freenancial. With my collaborator in Strategy and MKT, Miguel Moebius, we are going to get new pictures and to create a video talking about What is Freenancial Exposed and Why we think it could help a lot of people.
STARTING THE FIRST “SATELLITE PROJECT”
- I hope in March you’re going to have a lot of information about the first online project I’m going to be involved in. The first “case study” I’m going to show you in detail in case you’d like to start something similar in your path to financial freedom.

I finished 2018 saying that I needed to create a lot of good content for you and to improve the global strategy for Freenancial Exposed. These are the facts:

- I established a collaboration with a great friend and an incredible marketing and communication expert: Miguel Moebius. He’s going to help transform Freenancial Exposed with his talent and his skills. I hope in February you could notice the differences. There’s a lot of work to do, but it’s part of the process I like to show you. It’s going to be totally “exposed” as always to help you improve and avoid the same mistakes.

- This month is short. I have a lot of work from my offline business, but every single minute that I’m not there, I want to be with Freenancial Exposed. I’m really excited about the changes to come.

- I was waiting to have more subscribers (now it’s only a dozen of you), but I can’t wait much more. I’d love to start the Freenancial Exposed Podcast and some videos! EVENTS TO MENTION IN DECEMBER
- It’s been a tricky month because Christmas always change a little bit the usual working rhythm, and of course, more free days to enjoy with the family. But we still manage to do a lot of things.
- I worked a lot with the Backlinking strategy. If I had to give you a “soccer” headline about this, it would be: Backlinking 1 – Luis 0 🙁 I had no results to share with you because the strategies I tested seem too difficult that I think they probably only work when you don’t need them. I think I have to keep concentrated on creating great content for you, and only later thinking about how to outreach it.
- One of the most important things is that we’re talking with a great professional and an even better person to join our team!!, let’s see what happens but maybe in the January Income Report we have to introduce you a new partner!! 🙂
- I have review completely the site. After the first version, I double checked for any mistake and leave everything ready for our visitors!
- We hired a translation and proofread expert because, although we use a lot Ginger Grammar and Grammarly to avoid as many mistakes as we can, we want to give the best quality we can. And although Our Principles make us reduce the investment to the limit, this one it’s totally justified. - All this month working again with the SCRUM methodology have shown that it’s no doubt a great tool. (I know I told you that this deserves itself a post but I think it’s going to need more than one. I want to show you all the details you may need to use it and take the best from it).

Remember we decided to create a Google Sheet to have everything handy and clean and we’ll allow you to download it if you want to see the companies in deep, or even if you’d like to use this sheet for your next affiliate business project. YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT AND CREATE MORE CONTENT
- This is after trying with backlinking… and getting just nothing. I think is very important that you first need to have much more content, and wait a little bit that organic search starts to work with it. After you are a little bit more settled it could be maybe the time for testing again those strategies about getting links from others.
YOU NEED HELP WHEN YOU ARE NOT INVESTING :
- If you want to go far, and you don’t want to invest money, you probably are going to need partners in your travel. Now we’re Luis and Vale working part-time in this project… maybe we need a third person and in January you may have good news about it.
ONLINE BUSINESS NEEDS A VERY GOOD STRATEGY FROM THE START:

First, you need to define who you are.

After that, you need to narrow your business idea till the one to develop as your first prototype.

Then you need a strategy for your brand, your target, etc. We are here right now and it’s going to be our main task this month together with the creation of much more content.

EVENTS TO MENTION IN NOVEMBER
- Finished the site on time!!! Wow!!! This is awesome and it proves that the SCRUM methodology that we used for this project totally works.
- Decided the next steps we’re going to take in our project when this first version its completed and has a lot of good content for everyone interested in it. There’s a lot more to come!
- Improved our SCRUM methodology and the definition of the SPRINTS. (I think that this deserves itself a post because it can be really useful for creating ANY online project).
- Developed affiliation relationships with Ginger Grammar. As you already could have noticed, (because we probably have made some grammar or vocabulary mistakes), our native language is NOT English (it is Spanish “amigos”!). We love the challenge to improve our English level, but at the same time, it is really important to have the help of Ginger to avoid some mistakes. They are great… and in real time! MORE TONS OF WORK (and it doesn’t seem to be less in the near future):
- This is the same than last month, and it’s probably the same next month. You have to work a lot upfront in order to see the benefits later. And there are moments when you think it’s too much effort, but till now I have to tell you that you have to be resilient and patient if you want to achieve your financial freedom. In my other project (mostly off-line but with an online part: https://inspirayavanza.com) it took me 3 years to start monetizing on youtube, for example, but now is really nice to see money coming every month (this is not part of Freenancial Exposed, and that’s why these numbers are not in the monthly income report, but just to show it is totally true):
YOU HAVE TO PRIORITIZE WHEN YOU ARE NOT INVESTING :
- You know from our principles that we are trying not to invest money in the project, just to be an example to those that don’t actually have money to invest. Fortunately, we have the possibility to invest, but we just don’t want to, because this is a key part in Freenancial Exposed, helping you, guiding all the way by our example. So we have to prioritize all the ideas that we already have in mind for the project and, sometimes, it could be frustrating. But who cares?… this is about helping you, we’re not in a hurry of earning money fast with this site (we are already earning money from our offline business). But if you do can invest and want to get income back faster, contact us because we know how to help you.
OUTREACHING AND CONTENT:
- In the future, we’re going to be totally dedicated to these two big areas. We are learning to outreach Freenancial Exposed (yes, learning, because in the online world we still don’t know how to make it, and before I usually hired someone to do it! 😛 ). At the same time, we still have to create much more content for you, so December (that doesn’t have so much working days because we usually like to take some days off) is going to be the month in which we mainly work in Backlinking and Creating Content… let’s see on January what the numbers are still saying.. and what the new learnings will be.

Hello World!… Here it is the Monthly Income Report!! (hehehe… I’ve always wanted to start a post with this phrase 😛 ).
STARTING OUR MONTHLY REPORTS
Hi! this is Luis and welcome to our first Monthly Report’s post.
This is, hopefully, the first of a series of reports that I will be posting every month summarizing our progress. As you can read in our about section, Vale is not a “mad about numbers” person, so regarding the Income Reports it’s going to be me (Luis) the one who tells you everything we’ve done and how the numbers are at this moment.

Now that we’ve started, I’d like to mention that Pat Flynn and his Blog ( https://www.smartpassiveincome.com) were a great inspiration for me and Vale to start this online business, and we’d like to share it with everybody out there. So if someone knows Pat, or if someday Pat is around here reading this post (that would be awesome for us!!!), I’ll like to publicly say THANKS SO MUCH for all your teaching and your inspiration.
EVENTS TO MENTION IN OCTOBER
- Decided to create an online business (AKA Freenancial Exposed.. 🙂 )
- Finished 2 courses on SCRUM and AGILE methods. We’d like to use this methodology in our project.
- Signed our partners’ agreement.
- Defined 20/10/18 as “Day Zero” for starting “Freenancial Exposed”. We really love the name!

- Got information about creating a company for the project. A very important thing to do.
- We started the website. And Luis is designing it by himself, just like one of our principles says:
We really want to help people who doesn’t have much money to invest, so we decided to create everything, and show them how to get passive income and build an online business investing time but almost no money.
- The WordPress Theme was chosen. We’d already purchased Avada Theme, in case I use it for the new coaching website ( part of my “offline business”), so this time, although it’s not a free one, we decided to use it because it is an incredible theme, really easy to use for the website design, even for a rookie designer like me. - The email marketing service was chosen. After a lot of emails explaining why we should be accepted by some email marketing companies, we found the guys from MailerLite. TONS OF WORK:
- I already knew this, but if you don’t… “It takes tons of work (hours) when you want to do it everything by yourself and avoid spending money on hiring people“. But I have to tell you one thing… if you consider the work you have to do just as a learning process, then you are going to enjoy, because you are going to learn like crazy! As a result, I know a lot about WordPress, Web designing, Avada Theme, the best WordPress Plug-ins (I’m probably going to talk in deep about the plug-ins I consider more useful in a future post, because they can save you a lot of time and effort.)… it’s been awesome!!
KEEPING THE FLOW:
- I’m really optimistic about “deadlines”. That’s is good because I put a lot of effort and I’m really focused on my work, but you have to keep track of your inner state and your stress. Above all, remember you should always be working on your “flow zone”. Maybe someday I could talk about this, because it has a lot to do with my “offline-non-passive-income business” as Executive Coach and Business Mentor, but meanwhile, you’d probably like to have a look to this book: Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience. CREATING CONTENT FOR YOU:
- I think I could help a lot of people if I create and share some good content about how to develop an online business from zero, and also about how to design a website from that idea. Probably, during the next month, I’m going to gain more experience and I’ll have more information to do so.
